The Music
An essential ingredient to the enormous success of Tenor Australis is the careful selection and planning of all the programs that are individually tailored for each function at which they appear. This might even include rewriting lyrics for special events (Parke Davis and Raine & Horne corporate product launches), premiering entirely new Australian works with children’s choirs (Australia Day 1998 for the NSW Bicentenary Federation Float) or singing the National Anthem at Football Finals!
The following list of repertoire displays the enormous versatility of Tenor Australis, and includes the great tenor arias and Neapolitan songs that are synonymous with the finest tenor voices of this century (and many of the more recent popular songs of our generation), it also encompasses the songs and ballads that capture the spirit and essence of our own Australian musical heritage, past and present.
Many hours have been spent by Tenor Australis researching, arranging and tailoring old songs and ballads, and commissioning new songs* and anthems that all form an entirely unique approach towards Australian music, which have been recorded in their C.D. ‘Tenor Australis Under an Australian Sky’, taking us into the year 2004 and beyond with Australian songs of old and new!
